Geez, at this point I'm not even surprised if Ayumi and the others gets murdered

TenseiSensei • 2 years ago

You shouldn't be. They're purposely made to be stupid and annoying.

They get bailed out by Conan or pure plot armor.

Also, I was told several times by teachers not to do something, I did it anyway, and it turns out I was the only teen in my class who didn’t have to re-do ALL of my coursework. Eight months of coursework.

The non-physical discipline was bordering on cruel too. I don’t know about other countries, but to hit a child at all is abuse here, and a lot of the sorts of things you could say could be taken out of context and called abuse too.

TenseiSensei • 2 years ago

Yea true. Different countries have different meanings of what is going too far and is child abuse.

Asian countries tend to believe in disciplining.

For me, it was always a clotheshanger to the hand or the rear, or a hard slap on the hand. It was worse sometimes but nothing that could be really damaging to health.

That’s the sort of discipline I’d be ok with. Something that won’t actually hurt the child but teach them a lesson.

That being said, I’d never do that in America for the simple fact it is illegal and I totally understand why it is.

christian engesæt • 2 years ago

Worst pasrts of this show is fat ass fuck Genta Mitsuhiko and that super fucked up Ayumi

moonclaw longtail • 2 years ago

All this talk about discipline makes me laugh. I was physically disciplined as a six year old, I am now blind in one eye and have a permanent limp because pain only taught me to be sneakier, after all, if I was bad I might as well be better at being bad.

No parent is perfect, and children aren’t perfect either. If anyone is to blame, it’s Conan himself, as he is smart enough to get into and mostly out of trouble, and they all copy him to some extent. I know several parents who have done their best, but it means nothing if the child’s best friends leads them astray, even if they don’t mean to.

And then afterwards I got what I deserved lol.
My dad was very big on the discipline and learning from mistakes part. A simple “I regret my actions” wouldnt be enough to get me out of stuff. Now, given they’re only first graders I can understand the reasoning.
Still, if it were me there should be more to their punishment, not because there always should be but because they’ve shown time and time again they just don’t care about their mistakes. When you’re a kid, you should learn from your mistakes so you don’t repeat them in the future.
For instance, when I was a kid I never understood why you shouldn’t mess with fire. After being disciplined and taught about my mistakes, it stuck with me. Not necessarily the danger of fire, because I was too young to really understand the full scope, but because it’s simply wrong to mess around with it and only adults should be managing activities involving fires.

The amount of reckless BS the kids have done is innumerable. They don’t listen at all to adults and it shows. Idk bout you but when I was a kid I was told to always listen to my parents/guardians and nothing besides that. If they told me to be quiet, I did it. There’s more than likely a reason behind it. So when they tell you, go home and stay indoors, you go home and stay indoors. You don’t run after a murderer and then confront them because you’re the detective kids.

moonclaw longtail • 2 years ago

A six year old is too young to really learn from their mistakes anyway. Wait until they’re nine or ten, if they haven’t learned anything by then, they’re either special needs or little shits. Or both. I was both. And 'badly parented.' Your opinion is sh*t anyway, as I was told I was only a disobedient shit because of bad parenting, and it was actually because my brain developed much slower than was normal, due to developmental delays. They could just be a bit dense and slow learners.

Aside from extremes, this factor stands true. Now, if your parent tells you to run into the open street ofc you wouldn't do it.

But the way I see it, in detective conan we have yet to see a time where someone just decides "Hey Detective Boys, go confront that killer".

It's just always "Go home kids" or "Stay in the car" or "Wait here till I come back" and they never do it.

And on the point of Asia, yes, most people believe adults more than kids. In fact, this is true in most countries. In traditional Asian culture, bullying does not matter, because hardships are seen as nothing but something to overcome.
This lack of emotion or response builds the idea that if you have problems, you deal with it yourself, rather than seek help. It's a bad thing, and leads to issues.

However, your response is sidetracking heavily from realistic situations, especially in application to Detective Conan. People consistently complain about the Detective Boys, and for a good reason. They're consistently a bunch of kids who do not care about any level of authority or any level of concern for safety from adults. This is a failure in parenting and a failure on their part to learn from their mistakes.

The baseline of this is that they DO deserve punishment and while physical isn't necessarily the way to go about it, letting them off like they always do is just a bad precedent.

Wow, color me impressed, an episode where Ayumi doesn’tget kidnapped for once and actually does something helpful (spraying the guy with the fire extinguisher), rather than cry for help in the corner. *slow clap* Shame that she didn’t get this 1+ point of character development in a canon episode though…

Yeah that’s interesting

As Conan always says, "They haven't learned their lesson at all", but that's still no excuse for continually treating people being murdered or putting their own lives at risk without any kind of plan as some kind of competition with Conan. The worst part is when they celebrate it, trying to tell him that he's wrong and that it was a major success on their part, when they've never once solved a crime without him bailing them out, either in terms of the deduction or literally showing up to save their lives

bari • 2 years ago

ayumi knows how to use fire extinguisher, unlike me

LesK • 1 year ago

they're pretty easy, yank the pin out of the handle, point the sprayey part at your target, squeeze the handles together and hose-her-down!

bari • 1 year ago

hi! i'm sorry for being unresponsive to your replies in dc series >< you are very knowledgeable!

we have one on our house, and i tried before, but my hands are panicking!

LesK • 1 year ago

it's quite allright! :D come/comment as you are etc. :D

a little advice, read the instructions frequently. keep that extinguisher near the stove/oven. most home fires happen in the kitchen. practice SAFELY using it, mime doing the things that will 'arm' the extinguisher. :D if it is one of those tiny ones like... about as long and big around as your forearm... get another one just in case of a biiiig emergency. also, check the 'expiration date' and pressure gage, some of them do get old and not as useful as they were when new.

bari • 1 year ago

we got ours new only last year, and i do hope that we don't use that

akachanonaki • 2 years ago

so was the brother murdered?

Schwatzr • 2 years ago

most probably yes from her reaction at the end

Shisui_Itachi_uchiha • 2 years ago

Those damn little brats why don't they listen to Conan, every time there is a case involving detective boys I just get pissed, yes they help solve a crime or identify the crime but these shittly little brats are just too much. If it wasn't for Conan they will all be dead. I hope someone other than cona gets injured really bad so they will stop it. Wonder what they will do if Conan is cured and not around anymore.

Ayumi is a girl so why the group's name is detective boys?
Thought the brother would be alive tied up somewhere sad that he is dead.
